Our Christmas Miracle

Wow! We are amazed at how quickly Bobby is progressing. We moved to a regular room yesterday afternoon, and started eliminating tubes and monitors at a fast pace. He sure appreciated the freedom losing each one gave him.  And the best news of all: Dr Fell just stopped by and cleared him to GO HOME TODAY!

His speech is the only thing left to resolve, and that may take a few months. Already, he's much more coherent and less frustrated. It's been so interesting to get a glimpse into how the mind works, and what a fragile balance it maintains.  Some words are completely made up (fissle me for scratch an itch, cussle for speak), others are derivations of what he wants to say (querkle for barbeque, lunlun for lunch), others are opposites (hot for cold, girls for boys). I especially loved it when he pointed to his Bible and said, "gim my rock." His Rock, indeed. And he's not once mixed up "Love you."

Obviously, we are looking forward to a blessed time at home, basking in our very own Christmas miracle. Thank you again for all the care and concern, and for continuing to intercede on our behalf.

Love you all,  Juli

p.s. Happy Birthday today to Bobby's dad, Lynn Armour.

A Christmas miracle indeed! This gives us all joy. And we continue to pray - but I'm liking those made-up words. Hugs to all of you.
