Bumping Along

We're continuing to deal with low blood pressure and kidney function issues. Bobby was able to take two doses yesterday, but had to skip the 6am dose this morning. The neosynephrine drip which is supposed to raise the BP is at it's max, and his BPs are still 80s/50s. The creatinine level is 4.6, and there's been no urine output in the last 12 hours. While 5.0 is the limit, his kidneys need some time to recover. It's ok to skip doses, but we can't skip more that 2 in a row.

We've traded the chills and rigors for hot and clammy, along with some new nausea episodes. Lovely. Because of the blood pressure checks every 30 minutes, and the various and assorted beeps and alarms, any kind of deep sleep was impossible. I'm hoping he'll get some rest this morning.

So life in the confines of room 11032 pretty much stinks. My Aunt Ann said she hoped we could feel her prayers, and the funny thing is I really can. As miserable a situation as this is, we are actually managing pretty well. Considering I'm not the most compassionate caregiver, tending to subscribe to the "just deal with it" school of thought, and Bobby's typically the "don't give up, let's get the job done" one, there's a peacefulness in the room, instead of the frustration we would have expected. So, yeah, I think prayers are being answered, and felt. Thanks.
