The C Word

Yesterday was an interesting day. After looking like we might be done, with over 15 hours of no urine output and kidney function numbers elevating, out of nowhere came, not just a little urine (they only require 30 cc in a 12 hour shift), but over 800 cc! The nurses were amazed, and there was much speculation as to the cause, but my theory is that it was the C Word - Catheter. Our nurse Becky said he had 2 hours to produce or else. Guess all he needed was an ultimatum to get things going!

Bobby's blood pressure also stabilized enough, with the help of the neo drip, to do the afternoon and nighttime doses. None of this would have happened without a big dose of the P Word as well, Prayer. Thanks for rallying yesterday!

This morning however, blood pressures were back down so we had to skip the morning dose. Potassium is also high, magnesium low, creatinine still high. We're just taking it one dose at a time, looking ahead to the 2pm dose today.

So, the current score is 5 out of 8 doses completed so far. What a relief that we are out of the running for Least Number of Doses Completed - nurse Becky said the least she'd seen before was four.

Thanks for checking in on us. Love, Juli

Saw that title "The C Word" and got a jolt! Glad you were talking about a catheter! However, that doesn't sound too fun either.

We will do our part on "The P Word." Waiting for news on "The S Word." SUCCESS.
